Five Birthday Party Ideas For Older Kids

When it comes to older kids, you are never quite sure what to do to celebrate their birthdays. Some may be keen on a party and be happy to have one; others may not. Some might just be in that in between stage where they could go either way. So it can be difficult to choose the perfect way to celebrate their birthdays. So I thought it would be a good idea to give you some suggestions. Just incase you find yourself in this predicament.

Paintball Party

Depending on their age and what they are into a paintball party could be a perfect choice. Boys may favour it over girls, but it would depend on what your child is in to. A Childrens Paintball party would be like any other party hosted at a location. They will take care of food and other things which could be a lifesaver for any parent.

A sporty event

If your child is more the sporty type, then a sports focused party would be a great choice. You may want to think about a football theme, horse riding or even skiing. There are so many options to choose from that there's bound to be something to suit your child. Again most establishments will take care of food and other things so it can be very hassle-free.

A sleepover

Your child may prefer to do something at home. Perhaps invite a few friends round and have a sleepover. There are many ways you could occupy them. They may be happy to watch DVD’S or play games. You could order the food to save on the cooking. Anything like pizza would always go down well. There will be little mess to clean up afterwards as well.

A family affair

Children can be just as happy spending quality time with their loved ones as well as their friends. So maybe a trip out as a family could be the perfect way to celebrate their birthday. You might want to consider going out for the day or even just a meal at their favourite restaurant. I’m sure your child will let you know what they would like to do. You could even consider a family BBQ if the weather were good.

A cinema trip

You may want to look into something a little more low key. Heading to a local cinema with a few of your child’s friends could be a great choice. You won’t want to invite too many people to avoid feeling overwhelmed. You could team up the cinema trip with some food at a restaurant afterwards. Most cinema complexes are on retail parks where there should be plenty of choices to appeal to all of the guests.

The last thing to consider would be organising a bowling party. This could be a lot of fun, and most bowling alleys offer deals for birthdays. This could include a few games, food and drinks.

I hope this gives you a little inspiration for organising a birthday party for older children.
