Unusual Experiences for a Fun Day Out

A day out with the family or all your friends isn't something you should save for special occasions. You should arrange to have fun with the people you love as often as possible. A day out doesn't have to be expensive, and you can even find lots of things to do for free. However, sometimes it can feel like you're running out of things to do. You've been to the zoo several times, you're regulars at your favourite restaurant, and you can't be bothered to drive to the beach. Luckily, it's almost impossible to run out of things to do completely. If you want something new, you just have to think outside of the box.

Take Flight

If you enjoy flying, there are several ways you can get up in the air for a day trip. One of the things you could try out is a hot air balloon flight. You need to wait for a nice day to do it, but once you do, you'll love the experience. You can get up into the air without any barriers, except for the basket to stop you falling out, of course. Another thing to try could be having a go at flying something yourself. You can find flying lessons to learn how to handle a plane and take control on your first lesson. If you don't fancy taking control, you could just enjoy a flight in a plane or helicopter.

Paintballing doesn't just have to be for kids, although it can make a great family day out. If you're looking for something to do with your friends, paintballing is excellent for lots of occasions. It makes a fun stag or hen party, or something to do on your birthday. If you don't think normal paintballing is interesting enough, you can take it up a notch or ten. What about tank paintballing, when you get to drive a WWII tank? It certainly makes paintballing more interesting, or at least puts it on a bigger scale.

Hands-on Animal Experiences

Animal lovers can find some excellent days out, whether they're adults or kids. For example, there are falconry experiences where you can meet some birds of prey. You can feed them and even learn to fly them. There are safari experiences the whole family can enjoy, although some might not be suitable for younger children. You could also go whale and dolphin watching, or take a wildlife photography course.

Survival Courses

What would you do if you got lost in the woods or stranded on a desert island? If you love watching Bear Grylls, you can try out a bush survival weekend. There are lots of great courses that will teach you how to survive in the wild. You can learn how to find food and shelter and live in the wilderness for two days. If you would rather not leave the city, you could also spend your time trying to survive a zombie apocalypse instead.

Your weekends don't have to be boring. It's easy to find something fun to do if you know what to look for.
